“AI is useless for anything outside of…” (Live presentation)

Mel,   Over the years, I've become one of the "super-connected" guys. The plain fact is that I know geniuses in fields as far-flung as  cancer research, direct marketing, investing, religion, and entertainment.   I was talking to one of these genius friends – a data scientist who works with Fortune 500 clients on BIG AI projects – about the "AI is gonna take over the world" hype.  Here's a snippet of what that friend sent me… Whilst the AI revolution will change everything in time, it won't happen soon. The AI revolution hasn't really got going yet and people are waking up to the fact that (at the moment) LLMs (large language models) are more hype than genuine enterprise tools.   A colleague of mine spoke to Kaiser Permanente before Christmas. They had 8 LLM projects running and have paused them all because they couldn't get any reliable results, despite talented teams and big budgets.    LLMs are useless for anything outside of marketing. Anything outside of marketing.   If you're worried about AI steamrolling through your industry and destroying your 9- or 10- or 11-figure company?    Highly unlikely that will happen anytime soon.    It will happen. Just not in the next few years. 10 Sober Thoughts on AI and Marketing (Live presentation)

Mel,   On my next live presentation, I'm going to go deep on the future of AI.   There's a lot of intoxicated doomsaying and blathering about AI out there. But my take on AI and marketing is unique, sober, optimistic and principled…and you need to hear it.     To whet your appetite for this can't-miss event, sharing some of my AI aphorisms… Marketing is the art and science of helping people who need each other find each other. Bringing people together will never go obsolete - no matter where technology goes. The job AI is about to take away from you? You never liked it anyway.  Computers don't eliminate jobs. They create jobs. New industries and professions. How many people work in the IT industry? How many people telecommute? The well of human desires is bottomless. As soon as you had all the world's music for $10 a month, you wanted a $10,000 vinyl collection! Nobody plowing a field in 1850 could imagine drone operators or webmasters or social media managers. If AI takes our jobs, we can't yet imagine what new jobs will emerge... but they will come. Humans have souls. AI does not. We have the divine spark. AI does not. Life has desires… and near-death and out of body experiences. AI does not. Deep Blue didn't look forward to becoming the #1 chess champion and it didn't celebrate afterward.  We do not serve technology. Technology serves us. We can use technology to get enslaved, addicted and zombified… or to refine our thinking, create the unimaginable, live longer, and make superior choices. The highest value is human freedom, not business, profitability, politics, or efficiency.  Definition of authenticity in a world of deep fakes: When a real human being speaks their truth without shame. The gold standard for intelligence isn't machines talking to humans via keyboards ("Turing Test''). The gold standard is life itself. A teaspoon of bacteria does more programming than all the engineers at Google. Your own immune system is a million times superior to any human invention.  Questions are 1000X more valuable than answers. How to 10X your value in the AI age (Live presentation)

Mel,   Recently, I put my head together with about a dozen other geniuses, like AI prophet Sam Woods and billionaire Richard Koch.   We started brainstorming about what billion-dollar industries might arise from AI by asking some very interesting questions… What got decimated in the last 20 years?  What did not change when that decimation took place?  What was simplified?  What increased 10X or 100X or 1000X?  What similar decimation will happen in the next 10 years with AI?  What new Star Business might arise from this 100X increase?  Here's an example…   What got decimated? Physical copies of recorded music like CDs and cassettes.    What did not change? People's desire to listen to music.    What was simplified? You don't have to carry around physical CDs. You can make playlists, and the platforms and the artists get immediate feedback on what is popular. And then you have radio stations and bots that give you exactly the kind of music you want to listen to.    What increased 10x or 1000X? 100 times more song plays, a thousand times more songs available, and the price of concert tickets went up 10x too!    What similar decimation is about to occur?    That's what I want to dive into on a special webinar this upcoming Tuesday, March 12 @ 2PM Eastern.   I'm calling it the "Future of AI" Manifesto webinar.   I think "Subject matter experts" will be commoditized, with a very small handful turning into rock stars.   If you're an expert on marketing, AI can commoditize ordinary information about marketing.    But if you are on the cutting edge of any subject, people need someone they can trust. And AI is not very good at giving you information if less than 200 people are talking about it.   What didn't change is that people want to learn from people. And the need for trust went up 10X.    I think this might be the most important "AI concept" to grasp.    We are rapidly accelerating into the age of deep fakes, no longer being sure that just because something was on video, it was real.    We're quickly entering a time when anything you see on video or on the internet is suspect.
