Mel,

Most people hear simple, elegant advice and just cross their arms and say "well, that's too simple to work".

Really, they're just afraid of change. Afraid that if they implement simple advice, and it works, they'll look foolish for not doing it sooner.

Successful people don't have that kind of ego.  They just look at what works for the most successful people in their field and implement it.

At 2pm Eastern today, I'll be live with Alan Weiss, author of Million  Dollar Consultant and 43 other books. And what I love about Alan's advice is that much of it is so stunningly, elegantly simple. So easy to implement. Yet so powerfully effective.  That's 80/20 in a nutshell.

Example: One of Alan's techniques is called "Option 3".  Option 3 is simply offering a client a very high-priced (but valuable) third option.

There are many subtlties in execution, of course, (and most consultants only ever offer their clients ONE option) but that's basically it.  By simple adding a third, high-priced option, Alan's coaching students often double or triple their income in the first year.

What would it mean to your business if you could 5X the fees you receive from just one of your clients?

Please don't dismiss this advice just because it sounds so simple.  80/20 often looks simple from the outside, but once you start implementing, the results are staggering.

If you'd like to hear more simple-to-implement but profoudnly effective strategies like this, tune in today at 2pm Eastern to get Al  "Top Strategies for 2014 from the World's Top Rock Star Consultant"

Implementing just one of these strategies could make this year your best consulting year ever.

Mel,

I've read some great  0-star and 1-star Amazon reviews that have saved

me from wasting hours reading a bad book.

But, a 2-star review for one of Alan Weiss's books, actually made we want to read Million Dollar Consultant even more.

Amid all the glowing reviews (average rating: 4.7 out of 5 stars) there was a 2-star review.  Written anonymously. Of course. Don't get me started down that rant trail!

Here's a snippet...

Not once in his books you will find an example on how Weiss actually helped a  corporate client.   What I am looking for is a track record:  (a) what was the client's  situation before the  engagement of Weiss? (b) what did Weiss do, specifically? (c) what is Weiss unique approach, what are his tools, methods? (d) what are the  results after Weiss left? how were results measured  or audited? (e) what are any long-term lasting benefits of this engagement?...I have no idea what the author actually does as a consultant.

I was shaking my head through the whole review.  First, because Alan's Summit Consulting Group has consulted for Merck, Hewlett-Packard, GE, Mercedes-Benz, State Street Corporation, Times Mirror Group, The Federal Reserve, The New York Times Corporation, and over 500 other leading organizations. The guy has earned the title of “Rock Star Consultant”.

Second, because “Anonymous” is moaning that Alan won't teach him how to do his job.  This guy was expecting a book on how Alan gets results for his clients...not a book on how Alan makes more money from his clients. He wants to be taught competence, but Alan insists on teaching excellence.  80/20 is about working ON the box, not IN the box.

When Alan or any high-level coach gives you advice on how to make more money as a consultant, there are certain assumptions made.  One of those assumptions is that  you're competent. That you already know how to get results for your client.  If your problem is that you can't get results for your client...well, I'm sorry, no consulting coach in the world is going to be able to help you until you do.

So, no, Alan doesn't spend time on the nuts and bolts of consulting.  He gets right to how to get more clients and how to make more money from those clients in less time.  It's one hundred percent “80/20” advice.

In fact, if you implement the advice in just one chapter (Chapter 9)
of Million Dollar Consultant, you'd likely double your income this year.

And on February 5th Alan will joining me to deliver his “Top Strategies for 2014 from the World's Top Rock Star Consultant”.  Just $7 or free with your Mastermind Club Membership.

You're competent. You can get results for your clients. Alan will show you how to get more clients and get them to pay you more.
