*Use a "dumb phone" instead of a smart phone. Forces you to use internet less, and easier to take a day off of technology each week. Do not use any Internet-enabled devices one day/week.

*Read books that have nothing to do with your business / current projects on your days off. If you read business books on off days, your mind tends to gravitate back to your work, then you want to get to your computer so you can do the work. Then you've just worked on your off day.

*Keep pen and paper at your bed and in your wallet while you're out and about. Scribble notes and ideas.

(I use a David Allen wallet which has a tiny pen and pad of paper and I wouldn’t leave home without it.)

Fact vs. Fiction in the Guru Biz

Some time ago I shared a letter I had received from a frustrated student. (There's a link to it from the page I refer to below.)

His complaint was that marketing "gurus" don't sell results...just promises and air.

Fact is, there are some gurus out there selling air...promising to make you a Picasso if you use their simple paint-by-numbers system.

Fact is, it is possible for a guru to promise the world, offer a money back guarantee, provide nothing but air ... and still make lots of money.

Perfectly legally.

Perfectly possible.

The question is...why is this possible?
