How to Avoid Feeling Like an "80/20 Slacker"

What Should You Do Today

To Make Your Business a Star?

Take the Test Here

Mel,

Just got this email from Ari Galper...

"Perry, you’re not going to believe this (correction, you will, of course).

"I’ve been ruthlessly applying 80/20 in the last 6 weeks and my Star
Principle score moved from like 115 before and now it’s at 155...and
for the first time ever, we generated $100,000 (paid in full)
in a week last week.

"This has raised my consciousness to realize I could be generating
$400,000 a month with more 80/20…keep drilling this 80/20 in
our heads."

           Go, Ari, go.

What's a "Star Principle Score"?  It's an ingenious set of short
questions developed by Richard Koch, author of The 80/20 Principle and The 80/20 Manager.

Richard uses it to determine what businesses to invest in.  And to
say it has worked for him, is an understatement. Thanks in large part to this simple formula, Richard has taken his net worth from $4 million to $274 million.

But what does that have to do with YOU?

Well, here's something I hear a lot from entrepreneurs who really grab hold of 80/20...

"Perry, I've eliminated so many $10/hour and $100/hour tasks I used to do that now I have TOO MUCH free time. What am I supposed to do with all this extra time?  I feel like a lazy sod".

Well, the Star Principle not only tells you whether or not your business is a "Star" now, it also tells you exactly you where you should be working on your business (in all that "free time") to transform it into a Star.

That's what Ari's been doing: Using the Star Principle tool to find out what tasks to spend his "free time" on to get the biggest 80/20 bang for his buck.

And, at $100,000 per week, I'd say it's working pretty well for him.

Take The Star Principle Test here and find out what you should be working on today.

Carpe Diem,
Perry Marshall

Are You an 80/20 Entrepreneur: Quick & Dirty Quiz

Get Your Golden Ticket

Star Principle Seminar with Richard Koch

September 28-30, Chicago

Mel,

Think you're an 80/20 entrepreneur?  In his excellent book, The 80/20 Manager, Richard Koch provides a quick and dirty quiz for determining whether you're an 80/20 manager.

So, I've taken some liberties with his quiz to make it relevant to entrepreneurs.

Get a pencil ready and let's see how you do...

  1. How many hours a week do you work? (If you work 35 hours or fewer, score 2. For 36-40 hours, score 1. No score if you work more than 40 hours per week).
  2. Do you compile "to-do" lists? (2 points for no. No points for yes).
  3. Do you love your work? Do you tap dance your way to your office? (2 points for yes. No points for no).
  4. Is there too little time to finish everything you want to get done? (2 points for no. No points for yes.)
  5. Are you often stressed or tense at work? (2 points for no. No points for yes.)
  6. Can you think of another business you'd rather be in? (2 points for no. No points for yes.)
  7. Do you talk to customers every week or nearly every week? (2 points for yes. No points for no).
  8. Are you pursuing a simple strategy that is working well for your business? (2 points for yes. No points for no).
  9. Do you have one or more great mentors? (2 points for yes. No points for no).
  10. Do you regularly lunch with different acquaintances outside your business? (2 points for yes. No points for no).

Add up your total. Maximum score is 20. The higher your score, the more likely you are to be an 80/20 entrepreneur.

If you scored 16 or more, you're likely an 80/20 entrepreneur.

If you scored a 11-15 it means you're probably on the right track but not quite there yet.

And if you scored 10 or fewer points, you've got some serious 80/20 implementation to do.  Really low score?  You may need to think long and hard about transitioning out of your current business altogether!

The Best Way to Raise Your 80/20 Entrepreneur Score

If you'd like to work less...If you'd like to feel less stress...If you'd like to love your work more...if you'd like to bring more simplicity to your business...and make more money doing all this...you must ruthlessly apply 80/20 to every aspect of your business.

And, to get the most advanced 80/20 strategies directly from the master himself, live in-person, at a very special 1-day "Liberation Formula" event in Chicago...and get them all at no-charge...
