When I first became a consultant, a company asked me to come and talk with them for a day.
So, my wife Laura took me to the mall to buy a suit...
First, we went to JCPenney. I planned to purchase a $400-500 suit.
We stood around for a few minutes. Laura got impatient, then suddenly made a beeline for Nordstrom.
I gulped nervously as we walked into Nordstrom, one of the more expensive stores in the US.
I was thinking, "I don't buy $1,200 suits. This is a ridiculous amount of money."
