Mel,
There are at least 6 major class action lawsuits currently pending against OpenAI and ChatGPT for copyright infringement, using copyrighted works for training data.
3-4 years from now, you might get a Class Action Settlement check for $67.58.
But they will NEVER give up your data.
Look… If you wanna give ChatGPT your Meyers-Briggs score, pages on your website or zoom transcripts… that's fine.
But you MUST understand, just as Uber broke every law defying taxi companies… just like Google scanned every book on the planet… ChatGPT trained itself on the whole internet.
They didn't ask anyone's permission.
And they're not gonna give you credit for your contribution. No "proper citations"
That's great for the average joe, who thinks information wants to be free.
But if you've built your Body Of Work over the last 5-25 years, you had better draw a line between what's public and what's Y-O-U-R-S.
The parts that are exclusively yours become 5-50X more effective when an AI engine drives them. I've been experiencing this over the last few months, and IPvault has become indispensable. I use it several times a day.
Half my hard drive and 22 years of copyrighted material are a keystroke away, with Generative AI.
Which I own.
You need to own yours. Digital Sovereignty.
