I think the American higher education system is DEEPLY flawed and maybe even evil. Strap them with massive debt to pay for a degree that may not be worth the paper it's printed on… A degree in a field where few if any jobs exist? Unless your child or grandchild KNOWS they want to be a scientist, doctor or engineer, I can't imagine a US college degree being worth the time or effort. (In fact, Elon Musk, an engineer himself, says there is no reason to go to college these days.) I won't go that far.
