Back in 2017 I gave a lecture to a room full of smart people, including several prestigious scientists, at Arizona State University.
The speech launched the Evolution 2.0 $5 million prize. (Currently $10 million)
Everybody knows that evolution is right up there with abortion, gay marriage, gun control and immigration.
It's one of the top five issues that get people riled up about.
But I had made two promises to myself when I first dove down this rabbit hole.
#1: I will engage in conversation and debate about this subject with any reasonable person.
#2: I will ignore no verifiable fact.
I was very afraid when I first made those commitments. I was scared that whatever I would discover might upend my entire belief system.
But because I made those two pacts, I discovered things I couldn't have imagined. (If you want to know what they were, read Evolution 2.0).
Over and over again, I said to myself, "Oh my goodness, why hasn't anybody told me this before?"
Today I believe it's the biggest untold story in the history of science.
So, 13 years after that I'm at Arizona State University, invited by a famous physicist, Paul Davies, launching a $5 million prize to the world.
And today, I'm welcomed at the Royal Academy of Science, I get invited on expeditions by renowned scientists, I have started a cancer research foundation that is funding some of the most exciting cancer-reversing and detecting research in decades.
After billions of dollars and 50 years of very little progress.
I ended my talk at ASU by saying that the world is gridlocked. Everybody is trapped in their own tiny echo chambers. They only listen to people that they want to listen to, and they "block" anyone they don't want to hear from.
That's the way social media works. There are at least a million people in the world who are so much like you that you can just go and hang out with them online… and they will believe everything you want to believe.
And they will say everything you want to hear.
And they will never challenge your beliefs.
And will never let YOU challenge THEIRS.
And this is destroying our ability to have civil, reasonable conversations and debate.
Dark Horse is not about helping you sell ideas and beliefs that you have NOT paid the price for.
If you're trying to sell an unverifiable fact…if you're ignoring verifiable facts…if you are unwilling to engage in conversations about your ideas with reasonable people, even ones who vehemently disagree with you…
