The "99/1" Skill That Can Double Your Income This Year

The "99/1" Skill
Interview with Larry Benet
Thursday, June 13, 2pm Eastern
REGISTER HERE

Mel,

Back in April I did a webinar with Larry Benet, and what he taught
on that webinar is not only 80/20 powerful...it's 99/1 powerful.

Maybe even 99.9/0.1 powerful.

So, we are doing an encore webinar this Thursday at 2pm Eastern.

I know from personal expererience that what Larry teaches is true...

  • You're probably just ONE relationship away from doubling your business.
  • ONE relationship away from joint venturing with a partner that can drive you to massive sales.
  • ONE relationship away from bringing on a key employee.
  • One relationship away from raising more capital to grow your business.
  • One relationship away from raising more money for their favorite charity.

For me, that one relationship was probably Ken McCarthy. Way back before almost anyone knew what the heck "Google Adwords" was, Ken asked me to speak at his System Seminar on the topic.

And the rest is history.

Sure, there were other relationships that were important to kick-starting my business into the stratosphere, but Ken was the "99/1" in that equation.

On this webinar Larry will show you how to find the "Ken" for your business...in fact, he'll show you how you can find and develop powerful relationships with many "Kens".

Here's just some of what Larry will deliver on Thursday...

  • How to achieve any goal faster through the power of "connection currency".
  • How to get more business the easiest way possible - by getting (and making) more referrals.
  • How to avoid THE ONE relationship mistake that can cost you millions.
  • How to become one of the most influential people in your industry this year.

Influence, authority, credibility and connections are not only 80/20, they are the 99/1 of any business.

And Larry's process helps you reach the richest segment of your market faster, cheaper, and with more certainty and predictability than just about anything else out there.

What 99/1 connection do you need to make to achieve the breakthrough you need in 2014?

  • The CEO of a complimentary company that has huge access and quantities of the target buyer you're after?
  • A top-grade expert in online marketing, international trade, cash-flow?
  • An entrepreneur willing to sell you a business for nothing down?
  • A famous athlete, celebrity, business icon to endorse your business, product, service?

Larry " The Connector" Benet help his clients and business partners find connections like this every day.

And on Thursday, he'll help you find that "99/1" connection as well.

To Register just click here

Carpe Diem,
Perry Marshall

P.S. You can also register to get  CONSULTING on the webinar via a HOTSEAT with Larry.

How to Avoid Feeling Like an "80/20 Slacker"

What Should You Do Today

To Make Your Business a Star?

Take the Test Here

Mel,

Just got this email from Ari Galper...

"Perry, you’re not going to believe this (correction, you will, of course).

"I’ve been ruthlessly applying 80/20 in the last 6 weeks and my Star
Principle score moved from like 115 before and now it’s at 155...and
for the first time ever, we generated $100,000 (paid in full)
in a week last week.

"This has raised my consciousness to realize I could be generating
$400,000 a month with more 80/20…keep drilling this 80/20 in
our heads."

           Go, Ari, go.

What's a "Star Principle Score"?  It's an ingenious set of short
questions developed by Richard Koch, author of The 80/20 Principle and The 80/20 Manager.

Richard uses it to determine what businesses to invest in.  And to
say it has worked for him, is an understatement. Thanks in large part to this simple formula, Richard has taken his net worth from $4 million to $274 million.

But what does that have to do with YOU?

Well, here's something I hear a lot from entrepreneurs who really grab hold of 80/20...

"Perry, I've eliminated so many $10/hour and $100/hour tasks I used to do that now I have TOO MUCH free time. What am I supposed to do with all this extra time?  I feel like a lazy sod".

Well, the Star Principle not only tells you whether or not your business is a "Star" now, it also tells you exactly you where you should be working on your business (in all that "free time") to transform it into a Star.

That's what Ari's been doing: Using the Star Principle tool to find out what tasks to spend his "free time" on to get the biggest 80/20 bang for his buck.

And, at $100,000 per week, I'd say it's working pretty well for him.

Take The Star Principle Test here and find out what you should be working on today.

Carpe Diem,
Perry Marshall

Are You an 80/20 Entrepreneur: Quick & Dirty Quiz

Get Your Golden Ticket

Star Principle Seminar with Richard Koch

September 28-30, Chicago

Mel,

Think you're an 80/20 entrepreneur?  In his excellent book, The 80/20 Manager, Richard Koch provides a quick and dirty quiz for determining whether you're an 80/20 manager.

So, I've taken some liberties with his quiz to make it relevant to entrepreneurs.

Get a pencil ready and let's see how you do...

  1. How many hours a week do you work? (If you work 35 hours or fewer, score 2. For 36-40 hours, score 1. No score if you work more than 40 hours per week).
  2. Do you compile "to-do" lists? (2 points for no. No points for yes).
  3. Do you love your work? Do you tap dance your way to your office? (2 points for yes. No points for no).
  4. Is there too little time to finish everything you want to get done? (2 points for no. No points for yes.)
  5. Are you often stressed or tense at work? (2 points for no. No points for yes.)
  6. Can you think of another business you'd rather be in? (2 points for no. No points for yes.)
  7. Do you talk to customers every week or nearly every week? (2 points for yes. No points for no).
  8. Are you pursuing a simple strategy that is working well for your business? (2 points for yes. No points for no).
  9. Do you have one or more great mentors? (2 points for yes. No points for no).
  10. Do you regularly lunch with different acquaintances outside your business? (2 points for yes. No points for no).

Add up your total. Maximum score is 20. The higher your score, the more likely you are to be an 80/20 entrepreneur.

If you scored 16 or more, you're likely an 80/20 entrepreneur.

If you scored a 11-15 it means you're probably on the right track but not quite there yet.

And if you scored 10 or fewer points, you've got some serious 80/20 implementation to do.  Really low score?  You may need to think long and hard about transitioning out of your current business altogether!

The Best Way to Raise Your 80/20 Entrepreneur Score

If you'd like to work less...If you'd like to feel less stress...If you'd like to love your work more...if you'd like to bring more simplicity to your business...and make more money doing all this...you must ruthlessly apply 80/20 to every aspect of your business.

And, to get the most advanced 80/20 strategies directly from the master himself, live in-person, at a very special 1-day "Liberation Formula" event in Chicago...and get them all at no-charge...

Apply for your Golden Ticket here.

Carpe Diem,

Are You Thinking...or Merely Working?

Liberation Formula Seminar

Richard Koch & the One-Hour Work Day

September 28-30

Apply Here

Mel,

A few weeks ago, I posted a photo on Facebook of a gift my daughter, Tannah, gave me:  A waterproof notepad for the shower.

I got a lot of light-hearted ribbing.

I once sent an April Fool's email offering readers the opportunity to use my shower, since that's where so many profitable ideas come from.

People thought it was a hoot.

But were they jokes?

You see, most of us entrepreneurs like to think we spend our days thinking.

Simply because we're not digging ditches, or pushing 1s and 0s for "The Man", we fool ourselves into believing we're thinking.

If we're reading white papers, we think we're thinking
If we're researching a topic, we think we're thinking
If we're having meetings with our staff, we think we're thinking
If we're Skype-ing with clients, we think we're thinking
If we're analyzing Adwords campaigns, we think we're thinking

But, if we're honest with ourselves, we're still merely working.

Because real, breakthrough thinking rarely (ever?) happens while you're at your desk, in front of a laptop, or doing anything that has even the slightest aroma of "work".

As Richard Koch states in The 80/20 Manager, "Now I work no more than 3 hours a day, unless you count pleasurable reading and talking as work - which in a way it is for me, because that's when I have my best ideas. If I'm lucky enough to be inspired, it usually comes while I'm cycling, walking, on holiday, or sleeping.  I know that I achieve more when I work less."

So, are you really thinking or are you just working?

Here's a good way to find out...

-How much time do you spend cycling, walking, swimming, lifting weights or doing yoga?

-How much time do you spend reading for pleasure?

-How much time do you spend in unstructured conversations with no discernible business agenda?

-How much time do you spend journaling?

-How much time do you spend on holiday?

-How much time do you spend listening to music, strolling through art museums, doodling, painting, playing the drums, doing crossword puzzles, or just staring out the window?

-How much time do you spend sleeping, showering, playing with your kids or romancing your significant other?

If you're like most entrepreneurs, the answer is "not much" or "not enough".

And that means you're not thinking.

At least not much.

Or not enough.

You're not giving those breakthrough ideas (the only kind of ideas that will take business and life to the next level) any access to your brain.

You're just working...and thinking you're thinking.

If you'd like to find out how to spend more time doing the things that attract breakthrough ideas, and learn it directly from Richard Koch himself, who attributes his great wealth directly to his liberation formula for working less and thinking more...

Join us September 28-30 in Chicago.

Carpe Diem,

Perry Marshall

Corns Gone in 5 Days or Money Back

Mel,

A while back I hosted a teleconference with Dan Kennedy where we talked about writing sales copy. (You can listen to the whole MP3 at www.perrymarshall.com/copywriting/kennedy.htm ) I asked him to discuss examples of small, Google-like classified ads and he produced a beauty. It's been running for many decades in the National Enquirer. It says:

Corns gone in 5 days or money back.

I did a quick search on Google and NOBODY had taken this offline knowledge and replicated it online. There were hundreds of people on the call and STILL nobody has done so even now!

If anybody ever tells you all the easy money is gone from the Internet, they haven't read a magazine or newspaper lately. The opportunity to make money on the Internet will cease to exist only when everyone who searches the web finds exactly what they're looking for the first time, every time.

It ain't gonna happen in my lifetime. To say such a thing is kind of like the guy who said we should close the patent office because everything had already been invented. Stupid. (Is that starting to become a theme?)

One of the most powerful formulas for online marketing is to study what's worked for decades offline (not hard to do, just requires a trip to the library) and move those same great ideas onto the web.

Why you should only implement 10%

Mel,

A lot of people feel GUILTY. All the time.

Why?

Because they have all these courses, books and training, and have gone to a bunch of seminars and haven't hardly implemented any of it.

Guilt. Blame. Self condemnation.

Well, if you've done NONE of it, you *should* feel guilty, and get your hind end in gear.

But if you're like most successful people, you've done 10-20%, and you've probably skimmed the best cream off the top. So if you lock yourself in your cave resolving to do the other 80-90% before you get more education, you're violating 80/20. And you're stuck.

Case in point:

In my office I have something like 1000 books.

I've read maybe 200 of them cover to cover. I still have yet to crack 200 and the rest I've only skimmed.

That's about right. That's perfect 80/20 implementation. (It also means I've read several of them 5-10 times.)

I could completely stop going to masterminds, stop buying books, stop buying courses and attending seminars for the next 5 years. I suppose, in theory, I've got so much existing material I could just coast on that.

But I would never, ever do that. Ever. Here's why:

1) I am ALWAYS watching for the opportunity to sweep a $1 million strategy off the table, in favor of a $10 million strategy.

2) The books and information I've collected to date reflects my state of mind in this year, last year, the year before, etc. It does not reflect the evolution that I must make next year and beyond.

3) Quantum leaps always involve rejecting the good in favor of the great. Almost every quantum leap I've ever experienced has been a direct result of being with other people in a context of brotherhood and camaraderie and iron sharpens iron with highly competent, sharp people.

So when I go to a seminar or mastermind, if my mind is in top shape, I'm prepared to re-interpret everything I THINK I know in terms of some new, groundbreaking insight. I am actively looking for that insight.

That's how I keep my diamond-tipped saw blade sharp.

That's a strategy that will serve you well.

Perry Marshall

P.S.: Almost none of this has anything to do with "The internet is constantly changing" and all that hype. That is an extremely shallow reason. Yes, I could make that argument but frankly I'm not interested in learning much of ANYTHING that is going to be obsolete in a year. And you shouldn't either. Not unless you want to keep rebuilding your lame-o digital shanty town lemonade stand every six months for the rest of your life.

That is NOT what this is about. This is about expanding your capacity to absorb and implement deeper principles, larger strategies, and become so AGILE that nothing can stop you.
